Marvin Schur, 93, FREEZES TO DEATH!!! Thanks to Machine Overlords.

In the second installment of this series, we find a news item about a 93 year old man who literally FROZE TO DEATH because the utility company put a device on his electrical connection to cut it off after using a certain amount. (Learn more via: Google, Yahoo, MSN.)

It seems this kindly, patriotic, elderly gentleman, who in fact did have enough money to pay his electric bill, was unceremoniously cut off by big brother.

And I do mean "unceremoniously" since it seems he, his relatives, or neighbors, were not alerted to the installation of the device that was scheduled to cut off his supply of electricity after he used more than a certain amount.

Those of us who have visited Nursing Homes (or not) and realize that older folks are just older versions of ourselves, with somewhat diminished memories, skills, and capacities, are crying!

I literally have no idea who this man was.

He could have been the nice guy at the rest stop decades ago who was friendly and gave me a rubber ball. He could have been my Grandfather! He could have been my Dad! That could be my brother in many decades! That could be me in many decades!
