UNITED STATES OF AMERICA — Insignificant philosopher, theologian, pamphleteer, and blogger NewOldSalt.com announced his rejection of the latest banter and proposal of Healthcare Reform, Health Insurance Reform, in the closing months of 2009.

When asked why, NewOldSalt.com responded, "the government has prevented a public option that would allow those of us who actually want to help all citizens to join together and obtain the best buying power by allowing all willing citizens to be a part of a public health insurance plan, based on helping each other not based on profit."

"The government, replete with health care and health insurance shills, is merely bowing to their overlords by forcing the whole USA to be their unwilling customers. Customers to industries that profit greatly from others' sicknesses and mishaps, don't want to see their enormous profits eroded, and want the whole country in their pockets. Check out the Sunlight Foundation's "Wheel of Healthcare Contributions," and that's just for Max Baucus.

"Let's call this Baucus' bacchanalia to funnel every penny the U.S. has to to a teeny tiny minority of the population. I am sick and tired of this being 'the best government money can buy'! This is no longer a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. This is a government beholden to zombies of greed, the corps(es) and their lobbyists, at the expense of the people, not to help the people but to drink their blood."

NewOldSalt.com also pointed out another problematic issue, "I don't have a link immediately available, but I read that part of the bill was going to include an option to allow insurers to charge less to people who 'lead healthy lifestyles.' While it sounds fine on the surface, given history, this will be turned on its head and perverted for profit. Surely corporate interests will insert shenanigans that their products are healthy thus yet again using our government to 'force' customers to them. The fact is that even people who live 'healthy' lifestyles drop dead while jogging or doing some other supposedly healthy action, and that there are many people who engage in what is looked down on and considered unhealthy, but for some reason they last longer than their peers who do not engage in such practices. I sadly reject this as yet another good intention that is paving the way to hell.

Parkinson's patients, Alzheimer's patients and many more could be benefitting from using the healing herb marijuana, but instead our government has written an evil poison pill job description for the Drug Czar that he is to oppose the legitimate use of any thing listed on the DEA's ridiculous categorization scheme. Dear Mr. Drug Czar, you need to quit or have your job description updated because although I do not blame you personally, you personally are under the curse, they have given you the mission to fight God. Who do you think is going to win?"
