The Cross: Not a Weapon to Hammer Others

The Christ.

The Messiah.

The Cross

A symbol that points to the nearly-three-whole-days interruption of the baby Jesus' adult life.

Three whole days became four holes, four large body piercings; one for each limb.

And a myriad of small and large puncture wounds.

A symbol that points to shame.

A symbol that points to servitude.

The Messiah, part genetic material from a young girl, and part genetic material created by God's spirit, to create the DNA needed for birthing a human being to represent him on earth.

A symbol that points to turning the other cheek.

A symbol that points to shed blood, pain, long suffering, and indignation.

Lots of pain, and blood: a crown of thorns.

Supposedly born around this date, about 2,000 years ago.

The Prince of Peace who said he came to bring a sword, not peace. [Luke 12:51]

But who called those who worked to make peace, "children of God" and "blessed." [Matthew 5:9]

A symbol that points to trying to conquer one's enemies through human force, punishment, terror, and murder.

Did Jesus hold up his cross as a weapon to smack down others?

The Cross

A pointer to painful ironies, as well as the salvation to and from them.

Not a weapon to hammer others.

The baby Jesus asks you not to beat and shame others in to compliance with your views of what constitutes perfect behavior.
