Verizon: We Care More About a $20 Bill Than Your Life

According to TimesReporter.com, a few days ago an elderly man seems to have “gone off his meds,” and after a “domestic disturbance,” ran off to places unknown.

Realizing they might be able to track the man by using mobile phone signal, the authorities were stymied because the man had a bill with $20 past due. Verizon would not reinstate the missing man’s phone service so he could be located, until someone paid his $20 outstanding balance.

Yet another case of machine, money, and greedy overlords.
