We Are Visionaries! We Didn't See This Coming!

I continue to not be impressed by any logic I hear from the US auto industry.

What I see and hear from the US automobile companies is just what I see from the telecommunication companies.

I hear lots of self-lauding, "our great products," "the best quality," "the best value" and lots of similar marketing mumbo jumbo that's devoid of facts, numbers, units of measure; with the possible exception of their huge customer base and the incomes the folks at, and near, the top.

Apple teases the master of monopolies and FUD.I see them more in love with their stock prices than the services they provide their customers and the lives of their employees. I see them like the Apple ad that pokes fun at Microsoft: hundreds of millions of dollars for marketing, $1 for research in to making better cars.

But the most I can tell, all these companies have long ago killed off the spirit of their founders. Instead of inventing better products, honing them, they have become masters of the spreadsheet, figuring out how much pain/cost their customers can take. Wasting money on marketing that turns my stomach.

I own a Saturn. It took me a number of years to pay off, and on a teacher's salary it cost nearly a whole year's worth of pay. But I recently heard of a car company in India that makes a $6000 car! And I bought my car well over 10 years ago.

If the major car companies are such visionaries and see the US entering a depression due to their collapse, why didn't they see this coming?

Why did they spend so many millions of dollars lobbying Congress to prevent better mileage goals?

Why did they turn their noses up at electric cars or hybrid cars? Why did they kill the electric car?

What does the doctor do when hugely obese patients come in and complain about all their ill health issues? Do you think the doctor says, "Gee, you might feel better if you went out and ate a few gallons of triple chocolate ice cream. The kind with lots of sugar and extra cream at the top." ???

(Not a slam on this specific woman, there are hundreds/thousands of drones just like her, I'm sure.)

Jesus has a saying about people who look to save their lives; I'm going to extend it to companies too. You can look it up in the New Testament yourselves. I'll give you a hint, check these four books first: John, Luke, Mark, Matthew.
