I know it's similar to “spin,” but I’m thinking it would probably be a good idea to stop using the terminology of “flat tax” and start calling it “even tax.” Since that has a better ring to it.
Nothing changes behind the scenes. The concept is still that everyone is taxed at the same percentage, everyone equally.

It's been a while since I've typed up a dream I've had. This doesn't mean I've not had dreams at night, it just means I'm not logging them here.
But due to a number of dreams I had after Obama was elected, I figured I'd share a dream I had last night.

Sorry about that, but my guess is someone didn't like the fact I said that pay day lenders (and the variations on their ilk) were one of the current favorite toys of the devil.
Not long after that was published, there was an attack on this website. Hundreds upon hundreds of inane comments appeared. That was a burden in more ways than just one. Kind of like being snowed under by bullies holding all the cards which they stole or forced others to sign away under duress, haters of freedom, sharing, love.

Hm. I wonder. Think it has anything to do with another major religion that claims to submit to God? But which seems to promote the opposite? The crushing, oppression, and outright murder of people who disagree with them?

Down with the religious "leaders" who preach their version of politics more than feeding the souls of their congregations!
Down with the religious teachers who stand in front of "believers" and beat the true believers while encouraging the wolves in sheep's clothing!

Why is it our government hires people from foreign lands who supposedly write well on the Internet, and those people end up killing themselves and U.S. citizens?
What about the people of our own country who write well?
Is it because we want the U.S. to not crash and burn? Is it because were are not trying to trick our fellow citizens, enslave them with debt, or kill them?
Is it because we write concisely and to-the-point, and our government only seems to hire people whose writing is as clear as mud?

That's Jesus to many of us. Isa to others.

Instead of letting better organizations than the war machine work to help foreign countries, instead of admitting the wars around the world don't do much more than fill the pockets of the rich and stomp God's green earth to death, instead of admitting that all these wars are a vain attempt to make certain plants extinct, it seems Back Obama recently confirmed our worst fears.
Summarizing what he said, we are just a nation of war. It was something like that. He believes in only war. We should just focus on war. It was something like that.

Bruce Barton
“When you’re through changing, you’re through.”
Who is/was Bruce Barton?* A fundraiser for Barack Obama? A left-wing nut bent on turning the U.S. into another form of government? An anti-democracy or anti-federalist nut-case closely watched by the CIA, FBI, and Homeland Security? The anti-Christ? Someone who hated Jesus?

Isn't it ironic that so many people who mistakenly take Cain's indignant statement to God—"am I my brother's keeper?"—as though it was a command, seem to be the very ones shouting the loudest against an intelligent and compassionate healthcare system, like every other modern society has? One that is more interested in keeping people healthy and fixing ills quickly versus making executives rich and enriching their shareholders? Isn't this so much bigger than a miniscule portion of the population seeking enormous financial gain from driving so many to bankruptcy?

Back on 2008-08-26 I had a very strong dream. A number of them actually. I typed up part of one of them and published it 2008-09-01.
I remember much of it very well. In some dreams I "hear" names very clearly. The fragment of the dream I wrote about was such a dream. Not only did I hear at least one name very clearly, I woke up very angry at how I had been treated.

Dear Overly Hyper-Religious People,
I just found your site on the Internet by accident.
Sometimes I count myself as a very religious person, sometimes not.
But recently I came across a web site that seemed to be put together by at least one Bible thumper. So most of this letter is directed towards that site, which I will not point to.

The following is a passionate and opinionated letter I wrote to a Congressman of mine:
The auto industry doesn't deserve a dime! As far as I can tell they've been in cahoots with the oil industry, tire industry, and various crooked politicians to make life nearly impossible without owning a car! And worse, they've intentionally ruined many public transportation systems.

My earlier article on this subject "Blessings, Tangential and Other, Lemons into Lemonade" is not as strong as I'd like. Maybe the title is a problem, maybe the problem is I really want folks to know that to be treated badly is not an excuse to blame the victim, maybe the problem is this is such a hard concept to grasp that I may have fallen in to the trap of so many other folks, I tried to sugar coat it.

I have been hearing a saying over and over, and it's really bothering me. But the easiest way I could think of describing why I dislike the saying so much involved seemingly contradicting one of my previous articles on One Dimensional Number Line Thinking.

Just a quick note to post my disgust with all the greedy things happening today.
Greed is evil.
I saw a movie clip someplace where a character extolls greed as though it was some great force for good. It's not. Greed steals, it robs, it is often jealous.

Well, I have to admit that some of my essays are getting a bit dusty as I take some time to tend to personal matters. Of course I am bummed out, because I want to share these essays.
However, in the mean time I will try to post some thoughts using the blog portion of this web site. These blog posts will probably be substantially more wordy and less organized than the essays, sorry. :-)

Hello
Why NewOldSalt?
I am writing under a pseudonym because I don't want to use my real name. This is due to the fact I want what I write analyzed: the ideas, the concepts.
That fact that I wrote it, is not the point. I don't want this site to be about me, the author, but instead the ideas and opinions I analyze.
I will try not to ramble aimlessly.
Web Site Evolution
With regard to the web site, over time I will add features and some flair to it, but for now, less flash and more meaning.
