END CORPORATE PERSONHOOD! (no joke)
This will be the most difficult task ahead of all of us and stands in the way of accomplishing any and all beneficial changes.
However, on a note of hope: "Trickery often succeeds but always commits suicide." ~Kahlil Gibran
What we are seeing now, in my view, is the suicide of the parasites. Unfortunately, they are dragging all life down in the wake of their avaricious self-destruction because they forgot that being on "top" depends on the foundations, in this case, foundations of life and humanity. Their ship is doomed to sink ...
But of course, we gotta laugh because it is so stupid and it is far more healthy to laugh than to cry.
Watch the Video: The Corporation
In case there are folks out there who haven't seen the movie, The Corporation:
http://www.amazon.com/Corporation-Jane-Akre/dp/B0007DBJM8/ref=pd_bbs_sr_...
It should also be noted, the video features TONS of people, not just folks like Michael Moore, but conservative economist Milton Friedman.
The people who made the video really wanted a rounded analysis of corporations, not some slanted "left" view, like I'm about to espouse.
As far as me... I've taken a more and more harsh view of corporations over the years. I used refer to them as "corps," an intentional homophone of "corpse." And recently, to make it more clear, I just call them "the corpses."
However, to be fair, much of the concepts of teamwork, mass-production to put complex things in many people's hands, etc..., that underly corporations, I think are good. But to borrow another death metaphor, they've died to their benefits of society, and become zombies of greed!
How Things Have Changed
Noah in 2008
In the year 2008, the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in the United States, and said, "Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me. Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with a few good humans." He gave Noah the blueprints, saying, "You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."
Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard -- but no Ark. "Noah!" He roared, "I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark?"
"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed. I needed a building permit. I've been arguing with the inspector about the need for a sprinkler system. My neighbors claim that I've violated the neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision.
"Then the Department of Transportation demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it.
"Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls -- but no go!
"When I started gathering the animals, an animal rights group sued me. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodations were too restrictive, and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space.
"Then the EPA ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood.
"I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm supposed to hire for my building crew. Immigration and Naturalization are checking the green-card status of most of the people who want to work. The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only Union workers with Ark-building experience.
"To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species. So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark."
Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the sky. Noah looked up in wonder and asked, "You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"
"No," said the Lord. "The government beat me to it."

Someone who thinks the govt. has more power than it really does. :-)
To add some salty religious analysis.... :-)
However, the story is funny in its own way. Also, funny, as someone who listens to many perspectives, is this is the same kind of frustration many on "the right" have and blame it on "the left." While many on "the left" see this as intrusion and clamping down from "the right."
Unfortunately our govt, even though it's supposedly "by the people and for the people" is really more like a 18 wheel truck. One person drives, there are only a few people in the cab up front, and the rest of us are packed in the cargo area and can't really see what's going on (the real reasons the "leaders" make the decisions they do).
Surely we are a "house divided" and our current state of falling to pieces testifies to that. We need to get our own house in order, and stop trashing other places.
This short poll is leading someplace, but I'm not sure when it'll be the right time to reveal it.
God Loves, God Grows, God Does Not Create Destruction
Just thought of a few things…
1) It was prophesied thousands of years ago that man (the leaders specifically) would be the ones who destroy the planet. See this essay, "God & Isaiah Offer Strong Advice," for quotes and references.
2) I am sure I will go to my grave considered a heretic by many for saying it's not God who trashes the planet, who brings destruction, etc… Of course they'll point to various scriptures and say something like, "see here, God says he's bringing destruction. See here, God says he's going to kill ________."
I say, "what about the notion God is love, God is not evil, God does not contradict himself, that Jesus says if we can give good things-how much more will God give good things?" and so forth.
Next they will try to act as though my not worshipping specific parts of the Bible shows apostasy on my part. I will point out that I try to worship God, the spirit, not an inanimate book—an idol—and I'll point out Jeremiah 8:8.
I'll also point out some of the specifics of why I think the way I do as it relates to end times prophecy, for example that the destruction that comes is not from God, but God was merely holding the repercussions of our own wrong-doing back from us, then at some point it is not held back any longer and then there is sudden destruction. I will also contend that it hurt God to hold it back from us, and it hurt God to release it.
Then they will make disparaging comments about me, like they're glad I'm not attending their church, or I'm headed for hell, or I'll be kicked out of their congregation and told not to return. Maybe they'll "stone me" some other way.
Then I will try to keep in mind Jesus prophesied that would happen, and to rejoice because of it.
