NewOldSalt.com focuses mainly on ideas, ideally the sharing and analysis of them in a productive way for the benefit of all.

NewOldSalt.com is run by one person and privately funded by that person. NewOldSalt.com is not a "big brother" or "astro-turf" front-organization for a cause with a hidden agenda.

NewOldSalt.com takes steps to prevent spam from appearing on the web site. One of those steps is the registration requirement before being able to post comments. This step is not meant as a method to extract personal information from you and invade your privacy, you may use a pseudonym, I do. :-)

This step is meant to keep those awful spammers away, as well as the fact this site is a hobby and I don't have the time to police it every few minutes. (This site was attacked when I experimented with letting anonymous users leave comments.)

As a benefit offered to you, and your web browser, NewOldSalt.com stores a cookie on your computer so each time you visit, or want to post comments, you do not have to type in your user ID and password and prove your identity again.

However, if you login to this web site (or any web site), from a public computer, or a computer other than your own, be sure to log out of the web site.

This server collects standard information like, IP addresses, referrer information, browser vendor and version information.

NewOldSalt.com abhors the idea of selling your, or my, personal information (i.e. name, email address, phone #, etc...) for financial gain.
